KAREN CESPEDES

Karen Cespedes is a complex litigation consultant for Esquire Deposition Solutions. With more than 14 years in the legal industry, she has significant experience establishing strategic corporate partnerships, implementing consultative litigation strategies, and collaborating with legal professionals, law firms, and FORTUNE 500 companies.

A former State Department Fellow, Karen led the human rights, human trafficking and judicial reform portfolios during her tenure at the American Institute in Taipei, Taiwan. Born in Colombia and raised in Miami, she is an active and committed member of the community. Currently, Karen sits on the CABA Pro Bono Board of Directors and serves as its secretary; as well as The Florida Bar’s Citizens Advisory Committee and The Florida Bar’s 11th Circuit Grievance Committee I.

Karen was also the past chair for the Young Professionals arm of Legal Services of Greater Miami and is a sitting member of its Campaign and Community Outreach Committees. In 2017, she was awarded the Publico Award by the Cuban American Bar Association for leading efforts to provide relief to Hurricane Irma victims by setting up hurricane legal clinics and recruiting and coordinating volunteers to staff said legal clinics in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

She is a “Worlds Ahead” graduate from Florida International University. She graduated with a Masters in International Relations and East Asian Studies. A Spanish and Mandarin speaker, Karen has participated in numerous international conferences and was a featured speaker at the Global Initiatives Symposium hosted by National Taiwan University.
